Dr. Reid Guy is currently the Lead Pastor of New Hope Church in West Mobile, AL. He is a native of Laurel, Mississippi, and a graduate of Mississippi College where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. He has over 20 years of ministry experience as a volunteer leader and church staff. Much of Reid's ministry experience has focused on church growth strategy and leadership development. Reid has experience in launching a multi-site church campus, church revitalization, and church planting. He also served as a Leadership Development Manager with Samaritan's Purse, one of the world's largest Christian non-profit organizations.
Reid is married to Dr. Lori Guy who is a professor at the University of Mobile. She is an Assistant Professor of Music and teaches voice lessons, graduate music history and research. Lori, a native of Indianapolis, IN, is currently in her sixth year with the university. Before coming to UM, she earned her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also has extensive ministry experience leading small groups, discipling women one-on-one, and serving as the Guest Services Director for Venture Church in Hattiesburg, MS.
Reid and Lori have one son, Beckett and a daughter, Arden.
Reid and Lori are co-founders of the 128 Project. This is a 501(c)3 organization that focuses on food insecurity in the Gulf Coast region.
